FAQ: Google Merchant Center: Setting up Shipping methods

Starting from 1.09.2011, this information will be required for feeds targeting the United States, United Kingdom, France and Germany. See http://googlemerchantblog.blogspot.com/2011/06/update-to-tax-shipping-requirements.html .

First, you should identify the shipping method available to your customers by default on your site.  It will be a shipping method displayed at the first position on the Shopping Cart page.  

After that you should login to your Google Merchant Center account, go to Settings > Tax and shipping, click on "add a shipping method"and create a shipping method which will correspond to your default shipping method displayed on your webiste.

1. If your shipping method is of the Order Weight type ( Working with Shipping Methods ), the shipping details will look similar to:




Shipping Rate value = One-off cost + Cost (for specific range)

2. If your shipping method is of the Order Value type (Working with Shipping Methods), the shipping details will look similar to:



Shipping Rate value = One-off cost Cost (for specific range)

3. If your shipping method is of the Number of ordered Products type (Working with Shipping Methods), the shipping details will look similar to:




Amount = One-off cost Cost per Product
