Using MailChimp and experiencing a problem?

Reference: Using MailChimp and experiencing a problem?

Anyone who has pasted mailchimp HTML into a custom HTML page section may find it is causing an issue with other functional elements on the page.

This is due to a client-side library that is requested from the mailchimp generated URL in the HTML mailchimp ask you to paste on your site. The library activates a compatible mode in the jQuery library that is used in our system, and our system does not expect the jQuery in compatible mode.

It is necessary therefore, to switch-off the compatible mode on the jQuery. Part of the mailchimp HTML will look similar to this:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://$yourmailchimp_accountname$.us1.list-manage.com/js/jquery.validate.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://$yourmailchimp_accountname$.us1.list-manage.com/js/jquery.form.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://$yourmailchimp_accountname$.us1.list-manage.com/subscribe/xs-js?u=e879f0f9b0856e7956e7a8d6e&amp;id=9c0ddd0bc1"></script>

You should remove the first line and include<script type="text/javascript">$ = jQuery.noConflict();
</script> at the end of this statement.
Therefore, that part of the HTML should look as follows:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://$yourmailchimp_accountname$.us1.list-manage.com/js/jquery.validate.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://$yourmailchimp_accountname$.us1.list-manage.com/js/jquery.form.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://$yourmailchimp_accountname$.us1.list-manage.com/subscribe/xs-js?u=e879f0f9b0856e7956e7a8d6e&amp;id=9c0ddd0bc1"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
$ = jQuery.noConflict();
</script>

The rest of the code provided by MailChimp should remain the same.
