Reference: About the Checkout Process

The Checkout Process is a set of steps an online customer must complete to place an order.

The Checkout Process workflow depends on the shop configuration and can be either of the following:
- Guest Checkout Only (default) 
- Account Checkout Only

The Guest Checkout Only allows an online customer to place an order without being registered on the website. It consists of the following steps (depending on the Manage Payment Methods):

Checking out with PayPal Express checkout

(available if the "Enable PayPal Express Checkout" check box is ticked in the Edit Payment Method screen - for PayPal Payments Pro this check box can't be unticked)

PayPal Payments Pro/Payflow Pro

(PayPal Payments Pro is available if the "Enable Website Payments Pro" check box is ticked in the Edit Payment Method screen,  Payflow Pro is available if the "Enable Website Payments Pro" and "Use Payflow Pro" check boxes are ticked

PayPal Payments Pro/Payflow Pro is NOT available if Barclaycard's ePDQ payment method is enabled for the shop)

* The Shipping Details page is optional and can be removed if needed. To remove it, please do the following:

  1. Go to Website -> Edit Website
  2. In the Website Map block (left hand side) click on "+" for the Shopping Cart page, select the Shipping Details page. 
  3. Click on the Delete Page button.

This page can be added again at a later time.

Note: if the Shipping Details page is removed from the site, the "Click here if shipping address is different from above" - the check box isn't displayed on the Billing Details page.

 

Account Checkout Only allows an online customer to place an order only if he/she has an account within the shop (i.e. the system forces an online customer to register or login to an existing account before an order can be placed). It consists of the same steps as the Guest Checkout, but is preceded by the Login/Register page.
